Luxury fishing charters

DreamWork Sportfishing

DreamWork Sportfishing runs premium offshore charters out of Los Sueños, Costa Rica, aboard a custom-built 36’ express sportfisher operated under IGFA captain leadership. I designed and built the site in Bricks Builder to feel as polished as the experience itself, pairing a refined navy, gold and cream palette with cinematic photography, luxury package pages and a storytelling blog.

DreamWork vessel section: the sportfishing boat moored below a jungle hillside under a navy overlay titled The Dreamwork

Highlight 01

A cinematic first impression.

The homepage opens with a hero slider built on Bricks’ nestable slider and a Pods relationship field, so every page can carry its own set of slides. Further down, the vessel section uses parallax, a layered navy scrim and a ghost watermark to put the boat front and center.

DreamWork Trips and Rates page with a table comparing four all-inclusive charter packages side by side

Highlight 02

Packages that are easy to compare.

Luxury charters come with a lot of details, so the Trips and Rates page lays them out side by side. A comparison matrix shows exactly what each of the four all-inclusive tiers includes, from transfers and meals to accommodations and concierge service, with the top tier highlighted in gold. Package flyers open in a lightweight, pure-CSS lightbox, so there is no extra script to load.

DreamWork's Ship's Log blog with a featured-story layout, led by a story about Wade Boggs fishing aboard DreamWork

Highlight 03

A logbook built for storytelling.

The Ship’s Log turns trip reports into a reason to come back. A featured bento layout spotlights the best stories, while the full archive reads like a ruled logbook. Single posts use a custom prose style, a focal-point control that keeps each featured photo framed correctly, a full-screen photo viewer and a booking call to action at the end of every story.

Highlight 04

A gallery organized the way anglers browse.

The gallery is organized into tabs for marlin, sailfish, tuna, mahi and wahoo, inshore and bottom fishing, and boat and crew, so visitors can jump straight to the catches they care about. A masonry grid built on a shared global class keeps photos of every shape looking intentional, on desktop and on mobile.

Goal

A Luxury Charter Brand, Online

DreamWork needed a website that matched the level of its charters: all-inclusive luxury packages, a tournament-proven crew and world-class billfishing. The site had to showcase the boat and the team, make premium packages easy to understand and compare, and give the crew a place to share trip reports that keep past guests engaged and bring new ones in.

Approach

A Custom Bricks Build on a Tokenized Design System

I built the site in Bricks Builder on a design system driven by CSS custom properties. Color scales for the brand navy, gold and cream, a spacing scale, border radii, shadows, easing curves and display type sizes are all defined as variables, along with DreamWork-specific tokens for details like the hero scrim, bento card radius and photo focal points. Global classes pull from those variables instead of hard-coded values, so a single token change updates the look everywhere. Cormorant Garamond headings paired with Inter body text set an elegant, editorial tone. Pods custom fields power content like the hero slides, so the crew can manage what appears on each page without touching the layout. A custom charter inquiry plugin handles booking requests, and every Bricks layout was checked with a validation script before it went live.

SEO was built in from the start. Every page has a keyword-focused title and meta description, canonical URLs and Open Graph images for clean social sharing, plus structured data describing the business, its contact details and its exact location at Los Sueños Marina. To round out the launch, I migrated the finished build to the client’s managed WordPress hosting and set up and optimized the DreamWork Google Business Profile, so the charter shows up in local search and on Google Maps from day one.

Results

Polished, Easy to Manage and Built to Book

The finished website delivers:

  • A tokenized design system built on CSS variables for color, spacing, typography, shadows and motion.
  • A cinematic homepage with a per-page hero slider and a parallax vessel showcase.
  • A clear package comparison across four all-inclusive tiers, with flyer previews that open without extra scripts.
  • The Ship’s Log, a blog with a featured story layout, a logbook archive and full-screen photo viewing.
  • A filterable gallery organized by species and by boat and crew.
  • A custom charter inquiry system built specifically for DreamWork.
  • Full on-page SEO with optimized titles and descriptions, canonical URLs, Open Graph sharing images and local business structured data.
  • A Google Business Profile set up and optimized for local search and Google Maps visibility.

DreamWork now has a website that feels as premium as a day on the water in Los Sueños.
